The Performance Journalism Pilot Project is an independent, web-based media bureau generating insightful arts coverage in English and Spanish for print, broadcast and electronic media.
This pilot phase of Performance Journalism seeks to test a new approach to digital arts journalism designed to pioneer new arts access points on the internet, make inroads in broadcast reporting, bridge the current gap in arts coverage and create a new era of interest in South Floridas vibrant cultural life among the general public.
This test phase focuses on one arts discipline, dance, aiming to generate insightful dance coverage in English and Spanish that is made available to all print, broadcast and electronic media, as well as directly to the public. The electronic elasticity of media outlets and the rapidly growing opportunities for reliable, quality content, enables Performance Journalism to offer easy to access articles, photos and videos directly to the media for publication.
The Performance Journalism team consists of a volunteer Editorial Advisory Council, comprised of a group of three professionals, who will guide the tone and direction of the project and two professional, experienced editors (English, Spanish) responsible for overseeing a team of journalist.
